Red Letter Day

"Hey Barack, Just because they're black people doesn't mean they're not people...Just because we're little people doesn't mean we're not people!"

"Hey Barack, Just because they're black people doesn't mean they're not people...Just because we're little people doesn't mean we're not people!"

Barack Obama spoke at a Planned Parenthood Action Fund event, uttering the now infamous line, “Well, the first thing I’d do as president is, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. [Applause.] That’s the first thing that I’d do.”

Millions of empty red envelopes will send a message to President Barack Obama tomorrow that there is moral outrage in this country over the issue [The Freedom of Choice Act, which will essentially “undo” every law currently in place to limit and put restrictions on abortion in the U.S. (i.e., parental consent laws, parental notification, waiting periods, prohibition of transporting a minor girl across state lines to obtain an abortion, and bans on partial birth abortion, etc.)].

Want to join in the fun?  When: March 31st, 2009 How: Get an empty red envelope. On the front, address it to: President Barack Obama The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW Washington , D.C. 20500

PLEASE PUT YOUR RETURN ADDRESS ON THE LETTER. RED ENVELOPES ARE BEING PULLED AND SENT TO THE DEAD LETTER BIN BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE RETURN ADDRESSES!!!

On the back, write the following message: ”This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion. It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world.” I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died [in the U.S.] before having a chance to live.  Did you know?: We have already aborted more children than there are in the population of Canada.

Quote of the Day

Posted in Quote of the Day by tymothyson on March 30, 2009

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

Of God and Gold: What is your “motto?”

1907 Twenty Dollar Saint-Guadens Double Eagle “No Motto”

The evening news would have us trust in our own fear.

We have become hypocritical in that we point the finger at big business and the governments’ throwing good money after bad, and rightly so: much of what the government is doing is treason against our founding fathers and thievery of its people. However, seldom do we look at the spiritual state that has caused this to come about. Seldom do we look at ourselves on an individual level, such as the small things in balancing our own budgets: how we balance our own checkbooks. Malachi, the Old Testament prophet, mentioned that the high divorce rates and various and sundry social issues of his own time were ultimately a result of people breaking their covenant with God, thus leading to the break of their own covenants with fellow man, marriage being only one of them.

The Fed’s idea that they can give allowance for people to break their covenants with lenders has caused foreign nations to panic at their investments in America. America used to be a safe-haven of investment to a world in social, political, and economic turmoil elsewhere, because business covenants made would always be kept, and the nations knew this full well; money lent would always return with the promised amount of interest. What makes assets “toxic” today is the fact that yesterday they were unreasonable and dishonest in their ability to be paid back.

With the Fed rewriting the rules, it is no wonder that banks are hesitant to lend at all; lending agreements that can be renegotiated are not sure promises at all. Peoples’ word used to be their bond; now one’s word is turning into mere lip-service. No wonder the world market is pulling out of the dollar. Giving “stimulus” money to a broken financial system is like enabling a junky to continue to shoot up – he would sell his mother, even his own soul, for another hit. On the other hand, the common people have given themselves over to idolatry hook, line, and sinker. This is evidenced in the pseudo-messianic sentiment placed in Obama, who is only a figurehead of the misplaced trust in big government to fix the economic, political, and international systems. The physical signs of trouble are only a dimension of the spiritual brokenness that we have found ourselves in, both individually and corporately.

Although the newly minted $20 Saint-Gaudens coin was ready for circulation in 1907, an important inscription was omitted: “In God We Trust” (hence the name “No Motto”). Although our country’s motto had appeared on almost every gold coin minted for the previous 100 years, President Roosevelt felt that the Lord’s name should not appear on coins that could be used in transactions in brothels, saloons, and gambling halls, making them “close to sacrilege”.

At first, the President’s order was followed: none of the 1907 and only a small portion of the rare 1908 $20 St. Gaudens gold coins included the motto. Despite his motivations, the public – and Congress – construed the omission of this motto as an attack on religion. The resulting uproar quickly led to a Congressional Act restoring the inscription of “In God We Trust” in mid-1908. The motto remained until the government stopped striking gold coins for circulation in 1933.

Likewise, it is when we take God out of the social or public sector that we end up with a void that must be filled in another way. The ACLU would like to segment the spiritual out of real life even today, but I say that the spiritual is real life. Those who say any different are practicing a subtle form of hypocrisy that is sickening and destructive.

But what must also be noticed above all, is that the market revolves around “trust,” also known as “faith.” I work, trusting that I will receive a check which is backed by real payment from my boss at the end of the week, in all good faith. This is precisely why our founders didn’t cut God and the need for trust in Him out of the political-economic plain. In essence, trust placed in any other person or thing is the root of all economic, political, and personal brokenness in the present and in our future.

Hannan Brings It

Posted in Commentary by marsupiol on March 25, 2009

This fabulously delivered 3 minute explanation of the economic policies of Prime Minister Gordon Brown in the UK could be repeated almost verbatim about the current poorly managed US economic situation.  The Parliamentarian who delivered the speech, Mr. Daniel Hannan, is clearly a brilliant speaker and pulls no punches.  Hopefully we’ll hear similar speeches in the US congress about the disastrous economic recovery plan currently being implemented. The consequences of which have already led to a loss of US global economic and financial status.

China Bans YouTube

China completely banned YouTube

China appears to be blocking all access to YouTube. Now, why in the world would it do something like that? I’ve got some theories. First, though, the facts: YouTube use from China started dropping off the map sometime Monday night, with traffic nearly reaching a standstill by Tuesday morning. Google (which owns YouTube) has confirmed the apparent ban, though its staff is not certain of the cause. “We do not know the reason for the blockage, and we’re working as quickly as possible to restore access to our users in China,” a spokesperson says. Google does believe the Chinese government knowingly cut the access. The spokesperson, however, questions why officials wouldn’t have just blocked a specific video, as they’ve done before, rather than nixing the entire site.  More…

Pentagon Criticizes China on Military Transparency

Pentagon criticizes China on military transparency

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – China’s failure to be transparent about its rapidly growing military capabilities has created uncertainty and risks of miscalculation, the Pentagon said in an annual report released on Wednesday.

The report, the first under the Obama administration, came weeks after Chinese boats jostled with a U.S. Navy surveillance ship in the South China Sea in a confrontation that heightened tensions over Chinese military activities near its coasts.

“Much uncertainty surrounds China’s future course, particularly regarding how its expanding military power might be used,” according to the report on Chinese military power, which was submitted to the U.S. Congress.  More…

Postal Service Asks Congress for Bailout

Washington (AP) - Postmaster General John Potter said Wednesday the financially strapped U.S. Postal Service will run out of money this year without help from Congress.

The only lingering question, Potter told a House subcommittee, is which bills will get paid and which will not. He did say ensuring the payment of workers’ salaries comes first. But Potter also said other bills may have to wait.

Potter’s appearance came as the agency, which has lived on a reputation of serving through wind, rain and all sorts of obstacles, seeks permission to reduce mail delivery to five days a week. It also wants to change the way retiree health benefits are amassed to save money.  More…

Ringside Seats

Posted in Commentary by marsupiol on March 25, 2009

We are getting ringside seats to observe the events transpiring that will alter our way of life here in the United States forever.

It is indeed a rare time when one is able to spot turning points in history while they are actually happening.  It is generally only after the fact that the majority are able to point to a particular occurrence and state; “history was made here”.  As citizens, we have reaped the benefits of the Dollar as the reserve currency, benefits which include a life-style for the average American that is leaps and bounds beyond that of the overwhelming majority of the world’s population.  It encompasses everything from the size of our cars and of our homes all the way to the size of our military and our ability to project influence around the globe.  The loss of the Dollar’s reserve currency status would put an end to all of this.  We should be deeply concerned about what is occurring in Washington with regard to its spending spree and to the ruinous policies that it’s short-sighted members are currently wedded to.  There is still time to save the Dollar but one wonders just who is left in our nation’s capital to lead the charge.

U.K. Bond Auction Fails for First Time Since 2002

March 25 (Bloomberg) — The U.K. failed to find enough buyers for 1.75 billion pounds ($2.55 billion) of bonds for the first time in almost seven years as debt investors repudiated Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s plan to stem the worst economic crisis in three decades.

Gilts slumped after the London-based Debt Management Office, which manages bond auctions on behalf of the Treasury, said investors bid for 1.63 billion pounds of the 40-year securities. The last time the U.K. government was unable to attract enough investors was in 2002 when it tried to sell 30- year inflation-protected bonds. The yield on the 4.5 percent gilt due 2049 rose 10 basis points to 4.55 percent.  More…

Update: Youth Brigades?

Monday night, the Senate rubber stamped a nightmare domestic draft bill that legislates mandatory national service and creates an “army” of at least 7 million civilian enforcers working at the will of the government.   The bill also contains language that threatens to ban free speech and the right to protest.

Are You a Domestic Terrorist?

Posted in In the News by marsupiol on March 23, 2009

Do you support third-parties, Ron Paul, American Flags, or oppose abortion?  You may be a member of a militia, according to a new report by a government information collection.

Welcome to the Free-World, now salute your master.

‘Fusion Centers’ Expand Criteria to Identify Militia Members

If you’re an anti-abortion activist, or if you display political paraphernalia supporting a third-party candidate or a certain Republican member of Congress, if you possess subversive literature, you very well might be a member of a domestic paramilitary group.

That’s according to “The Modern Militia Movement,” a report by the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC), a government collective that identifies the warning signs of potential domestic terrorists for law enforcement communities.

Other potential signals of militia involvement, according to the report, are possession of the Gagsden “Don’t Tread on Me” flag or the widely available anti-income tax film America: Freedom to Fascism.”   More…
